It’s pralines day! When you go to Savannah, it is difficult to walk by these tasty, sweet treats, especially when free samples are available everywhere and it feels like its as much a part of the Savannah experience as walking along the waterfront or through the many squares of the city. But, when you are not in Savannah, I think eating pralines gives you an excessive amount of sugar. A better approach is to eat just the pecans. Pecans contain fiber, protein, more than 19 vitamins and minerals, the highest amount of antioxidants of all nuts, and heart healthy fats. All this, and they taste delicious! So, have a handful of healthy, nourishing, cholesterol reducing pecans and, if you want, imagine yourself in the magical city of Savannah.
It's the day I've been waiting for all month -- it's Eat Your Vegetables day! This is an awesome day. There's a lot of debate about whether you should juice or make smoothies, eat your vegetables raw or cooked, make them steamed or roasted, purchase organic or not organic. Today, don't worry about what's best, just eat a lot of delicious, nutritious, brightly colored vegetables in a multitude of different ways. Pay attention to what tastes best to you and what makes you feel best. Enjoy!

Today is running day and if you know me, you know I love to run, especially in my Vibram five finger shoes, but I also like to be contrary. What if today was “Not Running Day?” I’m not talking about in terms of exercise, but in terms of how you spend the day. Instead of running from place to place, squeezing in that extra errand or phone call or work, make today about flow. Can you take the time to enjoy the moment, smell the roses, breathe?
A little about me and why I am doing this.
