The host asked me about sugar as the new villain. It seems that every few years, there is a new food that we just shouldn't touch, and then often it turns out to be ok. Here's the thing about sugar. It is extremely highly processed, it hides in many places where we don't even know it exists. It has many, many many bad effects on us. It may cause cancer, it is definitely linked to type II diabetes and a frightening host of other diseases . It makes us fat, it's bad for our skin, it's addictive. It is even, in some cases, linked to psychiatric conditions.
There is no evidence that sugar is good for us. There are many healthier alternatives available. Before eating your next serving of processed food, look at the label, consider the amount of sugar, and consider what you might eat instead!
