- First, slice the long way around the fruit (from the north pole to the south pole and back around again).
- Then, with one hand gripping each side, rotate it 180 degrees so you can pull ½ away from the seed.
- Slice each half one more time the long way (think orange wedges). You can then easily remove the seed from the second side.
- Then peel off the skin
Apparently the flesh nearest the skin has the most nutrition and this approach will help you savor all of the benefits of that fruit. As with everything, I'm not suggesting you eat an excessive amount of avocados.
If you are feeling really ambitious, put toothpicks around the equator of the seed, plop it in a small glass of water and watch it grow.
